Save Green When You Go Green

It’s pretty easy these days to save money and be a friend to the environment at the same time. The examples that follow are just a quick sampling of the many ways to save both energy and money at the same time.
Today there are many appliances that have the energy star sticker or something similar that indicates that they are energy savers. In addition, there’s usually another notation on these energy saving appliances that displays how much money is saved annually by purchasing these more efficient appliances.
Another way to save energy and money is to make sure that your house is properly insulated. In addition to saving energy and money on your heating and cooling bills, it also makes your house a much more comfortable environment to live in.
For a bigger slice of the energy saving pie, solar panels will save quite a few dollars now and even more money later. Today’s solar panel installers work out the installation financing so that the monthly amount that you save initially on your energy bill is more than enough to take care of the monthly payment that you have to make for the installation costs. The average installation is usually paid off in about eight years, and that’s when the big savings kick in.
