Shrink Your Carbon Footprint By Doing These Things
Shrinking your carbon footprint is as easy as changing a few behaviors. If you are accustomed to using lot of energy it might be a little difficult to sacrifice comfort, but think of it this way, everything that increases your carbon foot print also costs you money.
Start simple. Dress for the weather. If you are wearing T-shirts in your house in December and running the heat think of it this way, would you pay upwards of forty dollars a month to wear that T-shirt? No. Go get a sweater and turn down the heat, and vice versa in the summertime. Want more? Click here. Keep your electronics usage to just the basics. If you aren’t using something unplug it, especially the cell phone. Cooking in the summertime heats up your house and not only are you paying for the energy to cook your food, but you’re also paying to cool your place back down. Consider using a solar oven to save the planet and your wallet.
If personal sacrifices aren’t your thing, switch to CFL bulbs. Or perhaps the best thing you can do for the planet is going solar. When you get your energy from solar panels, you won’t have to worry about a carbon footprint, and what you don’t use, goes back to the electric company to help ease their carbon footprint, so it’s a win-win!
