Reduce Waste By Using A Tote Bag
Many of us go to the store carrying a purse, a water bottle, etc. We put them in the cart and shop around. Once we get to the checkout stand, they bag your things in plastic bags and your carrying your various items and your groceries to your car. You get home, unload your groceries, and throw the plastic bags in the waste bin. The bags get picked up by the garbage truck and you never see those bags again. But, lets look behind the scenes. The plastic bags go to a landfill with many other loads of trucks with the same type of things in their trucks as well. It is all dumped into the ground and smushed by large machines so that the plastic will decompose a thousand years later and release harmful toxins into the environment. All you ever thought was that you were getting your groceries and getting rid of the trash-being cleanly and throwing what is not needed out.
There is a solution to this scenario, and the solution is tote bags. Tote bags can be used over and over again. They can even be used to put your miscellaneous items in when you are coming out of the store with your groceries. They are great for outings as well. Large ones can be roomy and can fit all of your belongings in so that you can use your hands and not have to carry awkward odds and ends. Tote bags reduce the waste that goes to the junky landfills because they can be brought to the grocery store with you, and you can ask the bagger to use your tote instead of the plastic bags that will be wasted anyway. It is much more sufficient to buy a large tote bag that will last much longer than any plastic bag, than to use plastic bags that harm the environment in the end.
